Problem
I facilitated a workshop to identify current issues with the Db2 documentation landing page. New clients struggled to find links to key pages due to the current architecture. This issue encompassed the need to upgrade, collect, organize, and analyze data effectively.
The primary problems were:

-
Inaccurate content
-
Poor usability and flow
-
Low accessibility and unappealing visual design

Brainstorming exercise: Identifying issues with the DB2 landing page, including the specific problem, its effects, impacted users, and root causes.
Goal
The project aimed to restructure the content hierarchy to better align with user goals by:

-
Defining user personas and their corresponding goals
-
Removing outdated information
-
Bringing important buried content to the forefront
-
Grouping information based on user priorities
-
Suggesting improvements to enhance accessibility
Identifying Key User Personas
Three key user personas were identified:

-
Senior Leadership
-
Individual Contributors
-
Administrators and Managers
Assess Competitors

Competitor audit for direct and indirect competitors, including Oracle Database, AWS Doc Site, Microsoft SQL, and G2 Deals
A competitor analysis was conducted to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of existing data management software sites. Key findings included:

-
Grouping user functions together, such as a “Getting Started” section with documentation links and download actions.
-
Providing concise descriptions of a product or section.
-
Ensuring accessible use of colour/contrast and inclusive language.
Prototype
